Individual Therapy

Individual therapy at With Brave Wings is for adults (18+) who often carry a sense of being “less than” and “not enough.” This can show up as chronic stress, self-criticism, or pressure to constantly achieve and please.

Stress in small doses helps us survive, but when it becomes constant, your body and mind can stay on high alert. You might push through exhaustion, feel anxious, or check out to cope with overwhelm. These responses are protective, but they aren’t sustainable.

One of the first things we focus on is learning to tune into your body’s signals. Feeling safe in your body creates the foundation for deeper emotional and relational work.

We practice gentle, practical ways to support your nervous system, such as:

  • Body awareness and scanning

  • Paced breathing and gentle movement

  • Progressive muscle relaxation

  • Humming or self-soothing touch

Safety and ease may take time—and that’s okay. You guide the pace. As your body begins to feel more settled, subtle shifts can occur: more ease in your breath, warmth in your hands, or a clearer mind. From here, therapy can support you in:

  • Understanding and working with difficult emotions

  • Recognizing and integrating protective parts of yourself

  • Reducing self-criticism and strengthening self-compassion

  • Challenging beliefs that hold you back

  • Moving from stuckness toward vitality and flow

Relationship Therapy

Relationship therapy at With Brave Wings is for any meaningful connection—romantic partners, family, friends, or chosen kin—where disconnection, miscommunication, or ruptured trust has caused distance.

Even when we care deeply about someone, it’s common to feel like you’re “in the same room but worlds apart.” Relationship therapy creates a space to reconnect and understand each other more fully.

This work focuses on:

  • Strengthening emotional awareness and expression

  • Identifying unmet needs and learning how to meet them

  • Increasing empathy, responsiveness, and support

  • Recognizing patterns that lead to disconnection

  • Repairing ruptures and rebuilding trust

The goal isn’t perfection—it’s deeper understanding, security, and meaningful connection.
